Voices from Africa: Uganda’s Minister of Water and Environment Ephrahim Kamuntu

Part of our Voices from Africa series.

In the second interview of the Voices from Africa series, Uganda’s Minister of Water and Environment Ephrahim Kamuntu talks about the influence the Ruhiira Millennium Village has had on the Ugandan government and their approach to fighting poverty. He said, “Ruhiira has made an impact, there’s no question about it, and as a result government is scaling up the Millennium Village Project approach to economic social transformation.” He stresses that development comes from empowering communities who are in control of their own futures, a key part of the project’s work. Follow more stories from the Millennium Villages as we continue through this special series.
